“THE LIGONIER HIGHLAND GAMES IS THE MAIN FUNDRAISING EVENT OF THE CLAN DONALD EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST, A 501c3 GROUP. DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE AND WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. OVER THE PAST 60 YEARS, WE HAVE GRANTED OVER $200,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES.
WE ARE AN ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER RUN ORGANIZATION WITH NO PAID STAFF MEMBERS OR OFFICERS – WE DO THIS BECAUSE WE LOVE PRESERVING AND PROMOTING OUR SCOTTISH HERITAGE.
MANY OF OUR STAFF HAVE BEEN WORKING AT THE GAMES FOR DECADES AND SOME TRAVEL GREAT DISTANCES AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE TO HELP ORGANIZE AND RUN OUR EVENT, SO A SPECIAL THANKS GOES OUT TO ALL OF THEM.
OUR GAMES HAS BEEN HELD ANNUALLY SINCE 1959, ORIGNALLY AS THE SCOTTISH PICNIC AT KENNYWOOD PARK. WITH THE SUPPORT THE MacDONALD FAMILY, THE GAMES MOVED TO IDLEWILD PARK IN 1968 AND HAS BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE LIGONIER COMMUNITY.”
NEW THIS YEAR! THE LIGONIER HIGHLAND GAMES IS NOW A 2 DAY EVENT!
