The Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to keeping Celtic history, art, and tradition alive and kicking in Western Pennsylvania.

What started as a single weekend event has grown into a massive year-round cultural movement, drawing over 25,000 visitors annually and serving as the region’s premier Celtic hub.

The Annual Festival

When: Held every September, the weekend after Labor Day
Where: The historic Carrie Blast Furnaces National Historic Landmark—a fitting venue, given the deep history of Irish immigrants who worked the region’s iron furnaces.
The Experience: 3 days and over 27 hours of continuous entertainment across five stages, featuring world-class Irish music legends, emerging artists, and local dance academies. You’ll also find a Cultural Area with weavers, lace makers, and historians, plus a dedicated
Children’s Area.

Year-Round Events & Partnerships

The fun doesn’t stop in September. Operating under its umbrella organization, The Irish Partnership of Pittsburgh, the group hosts and participates in events throughout the year, including:

BRIGID: A new annual celebration honoring Ireland’s Patroness and Celtic Goddess.

Community Pop-ups: Appearances at Picklesburgh, the Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Downtown Pittsburgh, and their annual Golf Outing.

Education & Community Outreach

Through the Irish Education Outreach Program, the organization takes Irish history, music, and arts directly into local schools and community groups.

Multidisciplinary Learning: Offers workshops and resources covering everything from the Irish language and geography to traditional music and sports.

Cultural Preservation: Sponsors unique educational experiences, including Celtic symbol drawing, harp history demonstrations by renowned experts, and an Irish-language Mass.
